Filippo Duò: "A new shipyard project for Vittoria Yachts, including refits in Monfalcone."
The area acquired last year was then resold to Red Bull but the company has already identified new land on which to invest

Cannes (France) – For the third year in a row, the Vittoria Yachts shipyard participated in the Cannes Yachting Festival with a stand in the Jetée area, alongside the major Italian superyacht builders. While waiting to see what the new corporate structure will be (an institutional investor is expected to enter the capital soon) and beyond to the interior design partnership announced with Bassan&BenedettiFilippo Duò, the shipyard's communications and digital manager, revealed the shipyard's upcoming development projects at SUPER YACHT 24, especially on land and in the North Adriatic.
Let's start with a review of the last period and the prospects for the future. next of Vittoria Yachts?
“The prospects are very good because, as we recently announced, there is a new investor who will make us stronger on a commercial and production level. He will continue the previously announced investment in Monfalcone, which was unfortunately only held up by bureaucratic contingencies, due to state property issues that needed to be resolved because we moved; in fact, we sold the area previously occupied to Red Bull because they urgently needed it. We have now optioned another plot of land further north, near, among other places, the Beneteau Group, and there, in the coming months, we plan to finalize the construction of a full-fledged shipyard with a refit area and boat moorings, plus a yacht club. A complete facility dedicated to boating.”
How long do you expect to complete this project?
“To complete it completely, a couple of years, to start producing even a year if everything goes well.
As for the production of the boats, as we announced in recent weeks, the new superyacht Veloce is complete in terms of hull and superstructure, and also in terms of the stern block, which was the latest addition since we announced last year the beach club, which brought a structural modification and was integrated into our production this summer.
We're now finalizing negotiations with potential clients. We hope to close the first one soon so we can then proceed with the setup and furnishings."
And Bow Sprit 54 meters?
"As for the Bow Sprit, we're also in advanced negotiations there. I can't say much about how it might go, but it remains one of our key selling points, and we'll soon announce a bow variant as well. We've noticed that there's also a demand for a slightly more modern design with slightly more streamlined shapes, and so, together with Hydro Tech, we've thought about a bow that's less tapered towards the outside and more vertical. The external windows will also be a bit more modern; in short, we'll see a more contemporary and less anytime, because this is a yacht from another era in some respects.”
Other projects?
“We've announced a new line that I hope to present by winter. I can't say much about it yet, but it also envisions a continuity of DNA between Cantiere Navale Vittoria and Vittoria Yachts, because there will be continuity in terms of vessel type at the production level.
We then have some custom projects still protected by non-disclosure agreementsWe are dealing with some customers on custom products based on their specific requests because we work with aluminum and steel, so some ask for steel, some for aluminum, and some for a mix of the two.
In the coming weeks, we will announce the completion of all corporate processes so as to present ourselves as a strong presence to the world, and we hope to be able to announce more sales and more news in the coming months, including on the Monfalcone side.”
Will the yachts in the next series be built in Monfalcone or will the hull be built in Adria (Rovigo) and the fittings done in Monfalcone?
"For at least a couple of years in Adria, like the Veloce, because Adria will remain the main production facility. Monfalcone may start with a small refit area, but construction will still take a couple of years before we've completed the warehouses and gotten everything ready. In general, the hulls will still be moved to Monfalcone because we urgently need to close the Monfalcone issue and complete the fittings, painting, and everything else related to the yacht's final phase."
Any more numbers and details about the new Monfalcone production plant?
"Regarding the purchase, we're talking about a few million euros. It's a plot of land measuring just over 20,000 square meters and will include a shipyard area with a couple of warehouses dedicated exclusively to yacht construction. There will also be a ready-made 800-ton travel lift, already built by Cimolai—the largest in the Adriatic, by the way—which will be used for launching vessels and, above all, for refitting and repairs, which we intend to focus heavily on. There will be several berths, including five for maxi yachts between 50 and 60 meters, and around a hundred berths for smaller, medium-sized vessels between 15 and 20 meters.
There's strong demand in the Monfalcone area, so we believe it could be a sensible investment. It will all be completed with a yacht club, the project of which we're finalizing in the coming weeks. It will evolve even further: it will be both open to the public and intended for clients and crew."
The news of new moorings and services for superyachts in the North Adriatic should be very welcome on the market…
“Exactly. That's the idea. The investment will be significant, and we hope to be able to present it fully to the world in a couple of years.”
