At the Cannes Yachting Festival, Pininfarina Nautical and De Simoni Yacht Design announced the Cat56 catamaran, the first production project born from the collaboration between the two design houses for the Austin Parker shipyard.

The Cat56 is Austin Parker's first project since its acquisition by Baris Nalcaci and – the manufacturer explains in a statement – was born under the banner of innovation, with the aim of combining the comfort guaranteed by the large spaces of a catamaran with the quality and sportiness of higher-category yachts.

The vessel's configuration – 17 metres long and 7 metres wide – has allowed for a wide and spacious layout while maintaining a slim profile that will facilitate mooring in marinas.

From a stylistic point of view, the Cat56 stands out for its sporty character that recalls the typical design of superyachts, elegant and slender, inspired by the DNA of Pininfarina and De Simoni Yacht Design.

The Cat56 features a long hull window; its design creates a seamless harmony between the interior and exterior spaces. Outside, the vessel features a cockpit with direct access to the sea, furnished with freestanding furniture.

The flybridge sits atop the hull, featuring a large sunbathing area, a wet bar, and the helm station. The layered design emphasizes the deckhouse, extending out from the superstructure; this allows light from the sky to filter into the saloon. This design, reminiscent of superyachts, is also reflected in the vessel's interior.

“When designing the Cat56, we focused on space and the onboard experience, creating a boat that creates continuity between interior and exterior spaces and allows for cruising in complete comfort,” said Daniele Mazzon, head of transportation design at Pininfarina.

"The acquisition of Austin Parker marks a significant turning point for the shipyard," added Fulvio De Simoni, CEO of De Simoni Yacht Design. "Baris Nalcaci will not only provide new financial resources but, thanks to his solid industrial experience, will ensure the production of the new catamaran and the boats currently in the range with state-of-the-art technologies. We have placed great emphasis on industrialization and production systems throughout every phase of the project, with the goal of constantly improving product quality."

Featuring large, bright spaces, the Cat56's interior features a saloon with an open-plan kitchen and living area, both of which open onto the spacious cockpit. Attention to detail and the finest materials define the comfortable atmosphere on board. The Cat56 has a full-beam open-plan master cabin forward, complete with a walk-in closet and a desk, two guest cabins with en-suite bathrooms, and a crew cabin.

The Cat56 – the first model in a range of boats that will be developed over the coming years by Pininfarina Nautical and De Simoni Yacht Design for Austin Parker – will go into production in September.
