Cantiere delle Marche announces the sale of Vitadimare 3
The yacht was launched in 2011 and represents the debut of the then newly established Ancona-based shipyard in international pleasure boating. CdM contacted the new owner of this unique explorer within a month.

Cantieri delle Marche has just sold a Darwin 86, the first Darwin-class explorer yacht. Launched at the then-new Cantiere delle Marche in Ancona, she was named Vitadimare 3 on May 8, 2011.
“The yacht was off the market, and just a month after the owner contacted us for a consultation, asking us to help him sell the yacht, we found a new owner for the beautiful Vitadimare 3. It was a pleasure and an honor for us. It was a pleasure and an honor for me to oversee the deal. We are all very fond of this explorer yacht, which represents our debut on the international pleasure boating market, a yacht that has accomplished the difficult task of making Cantiere delle Marche known and appreciated throughout the world,” said Carlo Aquilanti, Head of CdM's Pre-Owned Sales Department.
Vitadimare has a sturdy steel hull, impressive bow and bulkheads, a total length of 26,10 meters and a beam of 7,43 meters.
Accommodations for eight guests include four cabins on the lower deck, including a full-beam master stateroom. The crew quarters and mess are located on the main deck, forward of the galley. The captain's cabin is adjacent to the wheelhouse on the upper deck, where the owner's office, which also serves as a media room, is also located. On the bridge deck, which offers commanding views, the dining table and bar are serviced by a silent waiter for efficiency.
Vitadimare 3 is powered by two Caterpillar C12 engines, each producing 287 kW. This modest power output, combined with a fuel capacity of 42600 liters, gives this explorer yacht, designed by Sergio Cutolo of Hydro Tec, a range of well over 6000 nautical miles at 9 knots.
Since 2011, the shipyard has delivered 13 Darwin-class vessels and has subsequently been tasked with reselling 11 of them. On average – Aquilanti reports – it has resold these vessels at a premium of approximately 1.8% and within a period of approximately 4,5 months.
