Azimut presents the new Grande 26M in detail
22 owners have already chosen this new superyacht model which features innovative propulsion systems to reduce consumption and CO2 emissions by 20%.

Four years after the launch of the Grande 27M model—a benchmark for the shipyard due to its success—Azimut presents the Grande 26M, a yacht featuring design solutions typical of the superyacht segment and adopting innovative propulsion systems to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 20%. The enthusiastic response, Azimut states in a press release, has been immediate: 22 owners have already ordered the new model.
The Grande 26M's distinguishing features are the result of design choices that meet the expectations of discerning owners in terms of onboard experience. They include five cabins, including a full-beam master suite on the main deck, and completely separate passageways for guests and crew. These distinctive features, along with the immense flybridge—50 square meters on a single level—have never been seen before on a yacht of this size. With the exterior designed by Alberto Mancini, the Grande 26M is designed to be compact.
“It has five cabins with a huge flybridge and a cockpit that is superior to its category: we wanted to enlarge it to give the yacht a real dining area overlooking the sea,” explains the Italian designer, referring to one of the new features of this model: the Deck2Deck Terrace, the first terrace created thanks to the extension of the transom, a tribute to the power of the idea and the expertise of Azimut engineers.
The Deck2Deck Terrace is created by raising the teak-covered garage door to extend the cockpit and increase its dimensions to over 18 square meters. The walkaround table, once extended, can seat eight people in an al fresco dining area overlooking the water. Design innovations also extend inside the Grande 26M; particularly notable is the strategic choice of creating a partially raised helm station. This, combined with the smaller engine room spaces thanks to the innovative Large Pod system and the lightweight carbon superstructure that allows for greater volumes while maintaining the same weight, allows interior designer Achille Salvagni to work on expansive spaces to express his vision of organic architecture where the elements harmonize with the surrounding nature.
The soft, warm shapes and hues chosen for this new Azimut yacht complement the marine environment, which they overlook through the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows on the main deck and the owner's suite. Colorful accents are discreetly distributed throughout the yacht to stimulate the imagination of guests: cobalt blue and orange on some of the furnishings draw the eye into the cabins. The oak flooring echoes the warmth of teak, its slats expertly laid at a 45° angle visually expanding the space.
The shipyard adds in its press release that the master cabin on the main deck, with its two floor-to-ceiling windows, is a unique feature in this segment, allowing natural light to flood the space. Salvagni has also redesigned the suite spaces, combining them to create greater depth: the cabin and bathroom connect through an open dressing area, where light enters through innovative windows with curved, flowing lines, shaped like a cell. This form is further echoed in the handrail integrated into the wall leading to the raised helm station.
For over ten years, Azimut has invested in research into innovative solutions to reduce the environmental impact of its boats and was the first brand to believe in pod propulsion. Building on its expertise, it developed the new Large Pod 4600 propulsion system for the Grande 26M, a world first on the newest model in the Grande Series. The system, combined with a 30% lighter superstructure thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber, guarantees a 20% reduction in emissions at the most common speeds.
These high percentages – the press release states – are achieved without compromising performance: the thrust of the Pod engines can be directed in any direction, ensuring exceptional performance both when maneuvering and at high speed – and the Grande 26M easily reaches up to 28 knots. The new ZF Pod 4600 system was developed with the aim of achieving high levels of efficiency for the first time even on larger boats with top speeds between 20 and 30 knots. It also guarantees greater torque at low speeds, facilitating maneuvering. Last but not least, it is designed as a Hybrid Ready system: Azimut's future is sustainable.
The Grande 26M joins Azimut's Low Emission Yacht fleet, which includes over half of the brand's models. These models guarantee a 20 to 30% reduction in fuel consumption—and therefore CO2 emissions—compared to comparable vessels with chine hulls and a traditional shaft line, thanks to a combination of three key factors: weight reduction through the extensive use of carbon; the development of increasingly efficient hulls, specifically designed for the main operating conditions of the various series; and the use of innovative propulsion systems.
