75% of Cantiere delle Marche sold to Austrian FIL Bros Family Office
25% remains with Ennio Cecchini and Vasco Buonpensiere who become president and CEO respectively

Cantiere Delle Marche announced that it has just completed the acquisition of 100% of its capital through a management buyout, with 75% backed by the Austrian FIL Bros Family Office and 25% by co-founders Ennio Cecchini and Vasco Buonpensiere. Buonpensiere, currently director of sales and marketing, has been appointed the new CEO, while Buonpensiere, already CEO, will be the new president.
Tom Schröder, owner of FIL Bros Family Office, said: “I have an immense passion for yachting, and I've discovered that the management and management team at Cantieri delle Marche share this passion, combined with a commitment to building something special and unparalleled. Together with Vasco and Ennio, who both hold key shareholding roles, and all the employees who will be further involved and motivated in the company's growth, we will consolidate Cdm's position on the international stage as one of the finest yacht builders. Our goal is to deliver three to four explorer yachts a year to owners who wish to sail the seven seas and reach even the most beautiful seas safely and in maximum comfort.”
The statement further explains that "the company will be managed with a long-term vision and a desire to develop it through well-founded and pragmatic actions, while maintaining all the valuable characteristics that have made Cdm an internationally renowned player: quality, exclusivity, and meticulous attention to each client's unique needs."
Twelve years after its foundation, Cdm is the 12th shipyard in the Global Order Book 2022 by length of yachts under construction, closely following the largest shipyards and historic brands worldwide.
New CEO Vasco Buonpensiere stated: "Our goals are ambitious and visionary, but we know we will achieve them, as is the spirit and history of Cantiere delle Marche. Considering that our production is fully sold until 2026 and that production value will double within three years compared to 2021, we will further focus on our brand positioning. CDM is perhaps the only Italian brand that competes on par with the best Northern European shipyards, as evidenced by the many owners who have chosen our shipyard after having owned yachts built by Dutch and German shipyards."
Cdm was founded in 2010 as the crisis hit the sector hard. Thanks to the vision of its founders Cecchini and Buonpensiere and their in-depth knowledge of ship and yacht construction, it has become a world leader in the explorer yacht segment.
“When we decided to specialize CDM production, Vasco and I had a clear vision of what would happen in the recreational boating sector, and time has proven us right: explorer yachts are now recognized as a trend,” added Cecchini.
The current order book consists of 13 explorer yachts with a total length of 504 meters and a gross tonnage of approximately 5.000 gross tonnage.
