Azzurra II, a superyacht built by the Italian shipyard CRN in 1988, was sold in a negotiation between two brokerage firms, Ocean Independence representing the seller and Aberton Yachts representing the buyer.
Built of steel and aluminum to a design by Gerhard Gilgenast, a very famous German yacht designer of the time, this 47,52-meter superyacht was one of the first to have floor-to-ceiling, back-to-back windows that flood its interiors with light.
Azzurra II accommodates 12 guests in five cabins, including the master suite on the upper deck with 21 windows, and four double cabins, two of which have Pullman berths. All cabins feature an entertainment center, flat-screen TV, and private bathroom. A distinctive feature is the abundant natural light that enhances the light colors throughout the yacht, particularly the mirrored ceiling in the upper saloon, which creates a sense of additional spaciousness.
The yacht, built by the Ancona-based CRN shipyard—now a Ferretti Group brand—refitted in 2008, transforming its sundeck into the ultimate sunbathing and entertainment area with the addition of a six-person hot tub, a bar with a built-in gas grill, and an outdoor cinema that can be enjoyed under the shade of a custom hardtop. Azzurra II subsequently underwent further maintenance, including a complete repaint and new engines in 2013, new CMC zero-speed stabilizers, and carpets in all guest areas in 2014.
The Twin Man D2862 diesel engines on board allow her to reach a cruising speed of 14 knots and a maximum speed of 16 knots, while at 12 knots she has a range of 6.000 nautical miles.
The last publicly known price for its sale was 7,5 million euros.
