Wider Yachts: Investments and a New Image
All the new developments of the Wider shipyard in the Marche region were presented in Monaco. Since last year's recapitalization, the shipyard has shown a notable acceleration in all its activities and initiatives.

Principality of Monaco – Wider is experiencing a very active and positive phase, particularly since the 2021 recapitalization by Marcello Maggi and the holding company W-Fin Sarl. The latest developments from the Marche-based shipyard were unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show, confirming its status as an innovative player in the nautical landscape.
With significant financial investments, Wider has launched a radical rebranding, including the construction of a new state-of-the-art facility in Fano and a dedicated superyacht hub in Venice. Just one year after the recapitalization, Wider announced that it had exceeded all of its goals in September 2021 and today presents a completely revamped and innovative image, cemented by the debut of the Wider 42 and award-winning hybrid superyacht projects, such as the 50m m/y Cecilia. Wider promised in Monaco that it will raise the bar to take on new challenges, without forgetting its background and origins.
The brand combines luxurious beauty, cutting-edge technology, and environmental awareness. Always disruptive in its approach, from design to engineering, and constantly monitoring the latest technological developments, Wider is ready to launch future-proof products and has developed a new logo, brand identity, and website. Furthermore, the new facility in Fano announced earlier this year is becoming a reality. The 11-square-meter facility will be waterfront and built in the area between the fishing boats of the historic port and the marina, with a wide dock nearly 100 meters long. The area will be primarily dedicated to the construction of Wider series catamarans, and thanks to a dedicated innovation center, ideas, new technologies, and eco-friendly initiatives will be brought to life using sustainable materials such as wood and glass, thus minimizing the impact on the surrounding environment.
As this brand-new facility aims to become not only Fano's flagship but also a benchmark for all "Made in Italy" yachts, the shipyard has announced the keel-laying of its first project at the brand-new hub dedicated to superyachts and full-custom projects in Venice: the Moonflower 72, the first hybrid superyacht from the new Wider generation. Featuring an exterior by renowned studio Nauta Design, construction of the yacht is well underway and is expected to be completed in 2025. Moonflower 72 is just the first full-custom yacht to be built at the Venice site.
Among other news from the shipyard at the ongoing Monaco event is the market breakthrough of the WiderCat 92, the first in a range of catamarans designed by Luca Dini and the Wider Style Center, which has already sold five units to date. The first hull will be completed in 2023 and will remain in Europe to debut at the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival; two more are being delivered to the United States, thanks in part to Wider's partnership with MarineMax, its exclusive North American dealer. The WiderCat 92's hulls and decks are currently being laminated and will be assembled and joined in November 2022, before work begins on the lower deck for the systems and furnishings. Models of the two superstructures have also been completed, with mold construction starting soon.
Finally, the cutting-edge aspect of Wider's "Serial Hybrid Propulsion" in the cruising superyacht segment was highlighted. Over the years, this technology has redefined the standards of pleasure boating and now also offers a "Premium" option for complete contact with the sea without leaving a trace of its passage. "Serial Hybrid Propulsion" offers great "eco" cruising range and all the benefits of a complete hybrid system for the yacht, including "hotel" functions that can operate for many hours without generators, all night and the next day, thus eliminating noise, vibrations, and fumes. Naturally, Wider's technology is environmentally friendly as it is based on a power management software package specifically developed and patented for the marine environment. The technology has been designed to be flexible enough to easily integrate further developments and be easily installed on both catamarans and superyachts.
