The Genoa Boat Show is presented: over 1.000 boats and 998 brands on display.
The first World Yachting Sustainability Forum will be organised from 2023 with the presentation of the first European Yachting Sustainability Report

The Genoa International Boat Show is once again recording growing numbers in terms of both expected visitors and exhibitors. During the press conference presenting the 62nd edition of the event, scheduled for September 22nd to 27th and organized by Confindustria Nautica (Italian Marine Industry Association) together with its affiliate I Saloni Nautici (Italian Marine Industry Association), very promising numbers were presented. "There are over 1.000 boats present, 998 brands on display, while 168 new products have been announced by exhibitors," emphasized Confindustria Nautica President Saverio Cecchi. "The Genoa International Boat Show is constantly growing; this year, the exhibition space on the water increased by 5,2%, and it needs the new areas of the Levante waterfront, already under construction, which will guarantee our development for the next 10 years." Just in time for the start of the Boat Show, the resection of quay F was completed. "This year we have an extra quay, and next year the canals will be ready, and by 2024 the entire eastern waterfront will be completed," emphasized Genoa Mayor Marco Bucci.
Carlo Maria Ferro, president of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), emphasized the positives of the moment: "The country's exports are growing, as are those of the Liguria region, which exported over €5 billion in goods in the first six months. Nautical industry figures show exports grew by 49% in 2021, after the hardships related to the pandemic. Exports in the first half of this year amounted to €3,7 billion, double the figure for 2019."
Carla Demaria, CEO of I Saloni Nautici, emphasized that "the new waterfront will allow us to be not only a container, but also the content of a new way of thinking about the future. This is why today we are announcing the first World Yachting Sustainability Forum for 2023, along with the presentation of the first European Yachting Sustainability Report."
According to Marina Stella, Director General of Confindustria Nautica, "the recreational boating industry is a true flagship of Made in Italy in every respect," a sector "that we honor with the Design Innovation Awards, whose international jury is already examining 86 finalist projects. This year, the focus is on sustainability for the future competitiveness of the sector, aimed at highlighting the most innovative solutions and future trends in research and innovation. The Award is tied to the nautical sector's international expansion, with the Italian StartUp initiative, a collaboration with ITA-Agenzia, and the strengthening of the Made in Italy Promotion Plan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, also implemented by ITA."
"Online ticket sales data for the same period as 2021, eight days before the event's opening, confirm a 37,3% increase in purchases," explained Alessandro Campagna, Sales Director of I Saloni Nautici. "Motorboats account for 51% of the total, inflatable boats for 34%, and sailing boats and multihulls for 15%. But the Show isn't just about sales."
