The 39-meter superyacht My Saga sank off the coast of Calabria (VIDEO)
It was built in Italy on behalf of Monaco Yachting & Technologies and delivered to its first owner in 2007 under the name YuKo

It's still getting longer (there are now at least fifteen of them) the list of yachts that have been the victims of serious accidents resulting in the total loss of the hull.
The superyacht My Saga, flying the Cayman Islands flag and measuring just under 40 meters in length, but with an Italian crew aboard, sank around 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 20, in the Gulf of Squillace, approximately 9 nautical miles off the coast of Catanzaro Marina, while sailing from Gallipoli to Milazzo. All occupants were rescued.
The Crotone Port Authority operations room was called by the ship's command, which reported that the vessel was taking on water from the stern. A Romanian patrol vessel, serving on behalf of the Frontex agency, and the Coast Guard patrol boat CP 321 from Crotone were dispatched to the area. The first four passengers and one crew member were immediately secured on the patrol vessel and subsequently transferred to the patrol boat and taken to the port of Catanzaro Marina. The ship's owner contacted a Crotone-based towing company to attempt to recover the vessel. At dawn, the tugboat Alessandro Secondo from Crotone arrived and began towing the My Saga toward Crotone, the only port the vessel could have entered, taking on board four additional crew members, including the captain. However, the situation worsened due to the weather conditions and the superyacht's constant listing.
So much so that reaching Crotone seemed impossible, and the only option to save it was to beach it. Despite this effort, however, water flooded the hull, leaving the tugboat with no choice but to unhook the My Saga, which sank very quickly.
The superyacht's crew, who were aboard the tugboat, were transferred to the patrol boat CP 321 for transportation to Catanzaro Marina. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the sinking.
The pleasure vessel My Saga (ex. YuKo) was built by Monaco Yachting & Technologies in Italy and delivered to her first owner in 2007. The interiors were designed by architect Jean-Marc Achy while the exterior lines were entrusted to Tim Heywood Design.
