Among the legacy left by Leonardo Del Vecchio is also a 62-metre Codecasa
The great entrepreneur had chosen for his free time a 62-metre yacht from the historic Codecasa shipyard

The story of Leonardo Del Vecchio, who passed away yesterday at the age of 87, after over 60 years spent in business, is now more well-known than ever and will remain in everyone's memory as an example of fine entrepreneurship.
Equipped with foresight, skill, and an open mind, he founded Luxottica, now EssilorLuxottica, and embarked on a long journey of brand internationalization, acquiring nearly all of the industry's most exciting global brands, which, thanks to him and his team, became even more renowned. Along the way, he floated on the stock exchange, first in New York, then on the Milan Stock Exchange, and then again in Paris after the merger with Essilor. Meanwhile, he observed and acquired companies, even complex and innovative ones, that struggled to get off the ground, but which ultimately proved to be excellent choices, bringing his portfolio to 33 brands.
The business of the entrepreneur from Agordò, a small town in the province of Belluno, is estimated at a market capitalization of €66 billion and a turnover of €14,4 billion.
In dividing his naturally large inheritance between his children (six, from three women) and his current wife, there will also be a superyacht to "share": it is Moneikos, a 62-meter built in 2006 by Cantieri Codecasa and designed by Anna Della Role for the exteriors and by Della Role herself, in collaboration with the Dedalo studio, for the modern-style interiors.
The Codecasa superyacht (currently moored in Monte Carlo), which welcomed the great entrepreneur, considered by Forbes to be the second richest man in Italy and the 62nd in the world, during his short holiday, can accommodate 16 people and a crew of the same number, has a large internal elevator and two swimming pools, one of which, the largest, has a continuous flow generator.
Built in steel and aluminium by the historic shipyard that operates in Pisa and Viareggio, Moneikos is equipped with two Caterpillar engines that give it a maximum speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.
According to the website Superyachtfun, the captain of this pleasure vessel is the Italian Gilberto Frola.
