Luxury Projects presents the award-winning superyacht Alfa (PHOTOS)
Fundamental in the study of the interiors of this 70-metre vessel was the lighting aspect to enhance the owner's many works of art
To customize My Alfa, the 70-meter Benetti yacht that won Boat International's 2021 World Superyacht Awards as best motor yacht with a displacement of between 1.000 and 1.599 GT, the owner turned to Laura Pomponi's LP Luxury Projects studio to design every detail with a focus on functionality, innovation, and stylistic harmony.
The work carried out by the Ancona-based architecture firm was carried out in close collaboration with the yacht's owner and followed various steps, starting with the creation of photorealistic renderings right from the initial concept phase.
A central role in the project, explains LP Studio, was played by indirect and bright lighting, with the exception of direct lighting, to highlight the many works of art—the owner's great passion—on the superyacht. Custom-made decorative lamps were designed with special finishes and mounted so as to conceal any wiring.
At the owners' request, the maximum possible heights of the rooms were achieved and all the air conditioning grilles were hidden throughout the yacht.
Particular attention was paid to the functionality of the spaces, connecting the aft and forward seating areas thanks to a transitional entrance space with swivel seats that can be directed towards both areas. Staff interference with guests was also minimized by designing entrances to service areas such as the galley and pantry separate from the main meeting areas such as the saloon and dining room. The crew quarters were also designed with the same concept in mind.
My Alfa's generous volumes accommodate 12 guests in six cabins, including the owner's suite with its own deck and private office. The beach club, connected internally and externally to the aft platform, features adjustable floor levels, allowing the 1,2-meter-deep pool to be converted into a dance floor or a spacious sunbathing area during the day.
Lp Luxury Projects designed the decorative floor designs using marble, parquet, and carpeting, and for the furnishings, chose natural materials and colors for a warm yet bright atmosphere.
A series of special and innovative materials were also created for My Alfa in collaboration with Italian artisans, including "Metallo Liquido" in bronze, a pearl white resin with a 3D effect, and a "Flexible Stone Veneer" made from real natural stone. This last product creates a wall composed of real natural stone on a polymer composite support, serving as an ultra-light yet strong and flexible veneer that can therefore be cut to size with scissors and applied even to curved surfaces.
Thanks to the innovative design, solutions, and materials used on board My Alfa, Lp Luxury Projects won the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2021 for best wall covering and was a finalist in two other categories such as best flooring and best fabric/leather.
