Magellano 30 – Azimut Yachts

The first 30-meter Magellano was launched in Viareggio, “the absolute expression of the pioneering spirit of Azimut Yachts” as the shipyard defines it.

A note explains that this new pleasure vessel is aimed at "the expert owner, the connoisseur who wants to sail long-range and in all weather conditions, in constant dialogue with the sea. The Magellano 30 meters embraces this desire for freedom and allows it to express itself thanks to unprecedented seakeeping and a design that allows views of the sky and waves from every point on the yacht. The intimate relationship with nature is also respected in the sustainability choices, aimed at reducing the boat's environmental impact."

The Magellano collection is Azimut Yachts' line dedicated to sea enthusiasts who prefer long cruises: "The Magellano is always smooth and safe underway, with low fuel consumption and a wide speed range. Even the interior spaces are designed for long stays on board."

The new flagship fits within the brand's crossover line and embodies its characteristics, such as generous volumes and the desire to amaze in various sea conditions. It is the result of the collaboration of a winning team, already proven with the previous model (the Magellano 25 Metri): Ken Freivokh designed the exterior lines and volumes and Vincenzo De Cotiis the interiors.

"An unexpected element of wonder is the teak flaps that enclose and enhance the large windows of the superstructure, a signature of the Magellano line. True to its crossover vocation, the new 30-meter yacht offers spacious, bright interiors, which De Cotiis has skilfully rendered intimate and welcoming," continues the description from Azimut Yachts. "Freivokh and De Cotiis have designed the three decks of the new Magellano, bringing to life the shared vision of a yacht always in touch with the sea, from the terrace that welcomes guests as they come aboard, the Infinity Terrace, to the large terrace on the Upper Deck, dedicated to socializing and the pleasure of open-air cruising. Thanks to the enormous windows—over 70 square meters of glass—the interior spaces also feature a constant visual continuity with the surrounding nature, which metaphorically enters every area of the yacht: the full-beam Owner Suite, the living area on the Main Deck, and the pleasant Skylounge located on the Upper Deck."

Finally, on the subject of sustainability, "the second-generation Dual Mode hull, designed for the Magellano 30 Metri by PLANA in collaboration with the Azimut Yachts R&D center, guarantees an excellent level of stability and thus allows for reduced fuel consumption both at medium speeds – even in rough seas, sealing the promise of freedom of navigation in all conditions – and at higher speeds, achieving in the latter case a reduction in consumption of approximately 15% compared to traditional planing hulls with hard chines."

The 30-meter Magellano is designed to be equipped with a Hotel Mode package with 100kWh lithium batteries, allowing zero-emission anchoring with a range of up to 4 hours during the day and 8 hours at night. For total silence, broken only by the sound of the sea.
