Cantiere Navale Vittoria launches its first maxi yacht
Bow Spirit will be 50 meters long, will be equipped with a swimming pool at the stern and will reach almost 500 tons of gross tonnage
A three months after its launchVittoria Yacht, the new naval division of Cantiere Navale Vittoria dedicated to boating, has started construction of the first unit with the laying of the keel, which took place at the production plant in Adria (Rovigo).
The vessel, which will be renamed Bow Sprit, will be 50 meters long, with a gross tonnage of up to 500 tons, and will be the first unit in the Explorer line. Completion is scheduled for 2023. The ceremony was attended by Paolo Duò, president of Cantiere Navale Vittoria, Michele Zorzenon, CEO of Vittoria Yacht, and Sergio Cutolo, who designed the yacht in partnership with Hydro Tec.
"This day represents an important milestone for us," Duò commented. "It's evidence of a generational evolution capable of continuing the tradition of innovation and forward-thinking fostered by my grandfather Luigi, the company's founder."
Despite "the shipyard's ability to design and produce high-speed vessels with excellent seakeeping characteristics," Cutolo explained, "commercial considerations led to the choice of a more traditional platform, which is certainly more flexible and adaptable to different market needs." Specifically, Bow Spirit will feature an aft swimming pool and five or six cabins. It will accommodate eight crew members plus the captain. Powered by MTU 16V2000M61 engines, it will reach a top speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots, and a range of more than 6.000 nautical miles at an economical speed of 10 knots.
